Q: What is Forever Young BBL?
A: Forever Young BBL is a phototherapy treatment using noninvasive pulses of BroadBand Light (BBL) therapy to target the signs of aging , including sun damage, brown spots, and redness. This treatment makes skin clearer, smoother, healthier, and younger appearing. Forever Young BBL will help your skin look better over time with each treatment.
Q: How does Forever Young BBL Photofacial work?
A: The light energy delivered by BBL will precisely deliver to specific targets in your skin by gently heating the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to regenerate. If brown spots are the target, BBL penetrates the skin to reach the pigment. The particles of the pigment left behind will peel or slough off within 7-14 days. If redness is the target, blood vessels in the superficial layers of the skin absorb the laser energy which causes them to close. Over the course of several weeks, the body continues to absorb the destroyed vessel remnants.
Q: What is the difference between BBL and IPL?
A: IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light. BBL stands for Broadband Light. These are both very similar, but BBL is typically more powerful and more precise than IPL, according to a study done with BBL. A BBL-based system is more customizable and allows the practitioner to create a more specific treatment for each concern.

• Pigmented Lesions, including lentigines and ephelides
• Vascular Lesions, including cherry angiomas, telangiectasias, and rosacea
Q: What does a Forever Young BBL treatment feel like?
A: People often describe it as a slight popping sensation or light rubber band snap. You may experience some discomfort in more sensitive areas. We do not use topical numbing as we do not want to affect the blood vessels, which may lead to a less efficacious treatment.
Q: How many treatments of Forever Young BBL will I need?
A: Multiple sessions are performed every 3 weeks until the desired result has been achieved. Usually 3 to 4 treatments are required for full correction, although additional treatments may be needed depending on severity, or in time if any reoccurrence happens.
Q: How long does the treatment take?
A: It can take as little as 15 minutes, depending on the area you are looking to treat, as well as the treatment you are receiving. Treatment time varies from patient to patient.
Q: What will happen during the procedure?
A: Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. You may briefly feel a warm or “rubber band snap” sensation as the light is absorbed by the targeted areas. Your procedure may take a few minutes to half an hour depending on the size of the area to be treated and the type of procedure performed. Your Skin Management Expert™ will discuss all of your options with you including the benefits, risks and what to expect.
Q: What should I expect after the Forever Young BBL treatment?
A: Immediately following treatment, you can expect to see redness, and it may feel like a slight sunburn in the treated area. Depending on the aggressiveness of your treatment, you may have swelling for a day or two. Pigmentation will turn darker and will slough off in 7-14 days. You may experience some redness that resolves within a few hours up to 24 hours. For some spots, you will see a darkening of the treated areas followed by fading and flaking off at a later stage. Results depend on your skin type, the number of treatments, and the area treated.
Q; How long will it take to recover?
A: This is a non-invasive and typically gentle procedure with virtually no downtime. In most cases, you are able to return to work, and resume most of your activities immediately.
Q: What aftercare do I need?
A: You will be given post instructions and may be given additional products. You will be sensitive to ultraviolet light, and you must avoid direct sun exposure until completely healed. Fully cover your skin or use a good sunscreen whenever you go outdoors.
