PDO Thread lifts are a safe and effective way to lift sagging skin on the face, neck, and body. The collagen fibers from the threads help support the facial tissue which leads to improved skin tone in these areas as well as an overall tightening effect from reduced sagging.
A thread lift improves sagging skin and laxity in the facial area by using injectable sutures that form a supportive structure underneath the skin. The skin will eventually absorb the thread, but while present in the body it stimulates collagen production that makes the results last longer than the thread itself.
We use PDO (polydioxanone) absorbable threads, which have been FDA-approved for use in lifting the skin and reducing nasolabial folds. These PDO threads, originally used during surgery, can safely remain in the body for several months before dissolving, while new collagen develops around it.
The PDO threads are pre-loaded into hypodermic needles, and the threads are injected under the skin in the desired areas. They anchor themselves in place and provide immediate lift and tightening to the skin. Over time, collagen development replaces the thread, and your results far outlast the time the thread remains in place.
While threads remain in the body for about four to six months, results from your thread lift can last up to one year. Your skincare routine and overall health can affect how long your results last.
Immediately after the procedure, you may receive instructions not to sleep on your side or engage in activities that might dislodge the threads, such as rubbing the face. When the threads have fully anchored, you do not need to worry about them moving around.
Thread lift results, while not as dramatic as a facelift, look natural and healthy. Lifted facial skin looks tighter, revealing the contours of your cheekbones, and other facial features. You can expect to see immediate results after your procedure, with those results maintained or even improved as your own collagen takes over for the temporary support of the threads.
