Use This Not That!

There are specific ingredients if used in your homecare routine, can absolutely help minimize irritation, and even go further as to improve your sensitive skin. The opposite is also true. If you use the wrong ingredients, you can not only make your skin more sensitive, but it could lead to inflammation and irritation. Use this quick three part guide to ingredients to make sure your home routine is on point.

Use Physical Sunblock NOT Chemical Sunblock

Physical sunscreen sits on top of the skin and reflects the sun’s rays rather than a chemical sunblock, which absorbs into the skin, turns the rays into heat and releases them from the body. Physical SPF actually reduces inflammation as well, whereas its chemical counterpart increases inflammation in the skin.

Use Enzymes NOT Scrubs

Enzymes exfoliate gently, while helping reduce redness and dryness, and even deeply cleansing debris in the skin. Scrubbing away unwanted bumps, dryness and texture, is far more abrasive to the skin, and not recommended for sensitive skin types.

Use Mandelic & Azelaic Acid NOT Glycolic Acid

I love Glycolic Acid for other skin types, but it’s just too irritating and deep on super sensitive skin. Try something gentler like Mandelic or Azelaic acid.

Recommended Peels for Sensitive Skin

Chemical Peels are the most simple and least invasive ways to improve the appearance of your skin for pores, texture, tone, pigment, sun damage, fine lines, acne, and more. Here are five that won’t irritate sensitive skin!

The Best Facials for Sensitive Skin

I’m a strong advocate of treating your skin to a monthly CELLULAR LEVEL facial! Here are five that are perfect for sensitive skin:

Cryotherapy

Cryofacials use gentle cryogenically cooled air to stimulate collagen production, increase rejuvenation, improve elasticity, refine the pores, and give a glow to the skin.

Oxygen Facials

Oxygen facials like Oxygeneo™, are amazing treatments for aging, dull and dehydrated skin to restore its youth and give you an all‑around healthier look and feel.

Seaweed Facials

A premier anti‑aging and replenishing treatment where layer upon layer of pure, fresh European seaweed is used to rejuvenate, tone, firm, and dramatically help dehydration, dryness, and fine lines.

CBD Facials

Includes antioxidants and anti‑inflammatory benefits, leaving the skin with improved texture and minimized puffiness.

Nano‑needling facial

This powerful restructuring treatment addresses your esthetic concerns including fine lines, wrinkles, blemishes, skin tone, and texture, without needles but instead using nanotechnology to open channels in the skin just like needles, but without the pain and side effects.

Consider IPL or BBL Laser Treatments for Sensitive Skin

If you haven’t tried any light‑based treatments like BBL, you definitely should!

BBL is the perfect solution for not needing makeup to cover up imperfections and hyperpigmentation! BBL helps to lift browns, reds, and appearance of small vessels from the skin for a clearer, brighter complexion. And it’s gentle enough that it won’t cause extra irritation for sensitive skin. Perfect combination, right?!
